Emily Wright

Emily has had a storied communications career over the past 15 years.

Most recently as the VP of Global Communications at Bumble Inc., a role she earned after being a strategic leader and excellent executor for the company’s history IPO in 2021.

With a tenure at Bumble spanning over half a decade, her leadership and vision have been nothing short of remarkable. Emily has been responsible for building the communications team at Bumble, where she was the first communications employee. Over the years, her unwavering dedication and strategic prowess have not only grown the communications team but also cultivated it into an award-winning global powerhouse, now comprised of more than 20 talented in-house employees globally. Emily’s leadership has accounted for the highest retention rate in the company and cemented the team as one of the most respected teams in the business.

Prior to joining Bumble, Emily worked on the Global Communications team at Whole Foods Market where she led communications for the company’s 365 Everyday Value brand and helped position the company as a leader in natural beauty. During her tenure at Whole Foods Market, Emily helped support numerous initiatives across tech and innovation, crisis and issues and quarterly earnings reporting. Emily also worked on key founder and CEO-led initiatives, such as John Mackey’s book tour and the company’s acquisition by Amazon.

WHAT EMILY IS KNOWN FOR

Team Building: Emily had one of the highest leadership scores while at Bumble, which is also underscored by her ability to hire and retain top communications talent – including employees from Meta, Johnson & Johnson, Activision Blizzard, Netflix and top PR + communications agencies from around the world.

Strategic Oversight: Emily sat on Bumble’s Business Leadership Team, which plays a critical role in supporting and executing the vision from the company’s founder and CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd. Emily has overseen the projects and teams who led Bumble’s most notable moments including the company’s initial public offering during the pandemic, the company’s first Super Bowl ad with Serena Williams and more.

Change Management: Emily provided exceptional leadership and oversight of the Communications team guiding a high-growth company to a successful IPO, setting a remarkable example for the industry.

Business Advisor: Emily serves as a Business Advisor at ChannelFore, a new firm that exists to help businesses stay ahead of marketing trends, meaningfully reach new customers, and, most importantly, entertain.

Board of Directors: Emily served as a member of the Board of Directors for Austin Partners in Education, a non-profit organization with a mission to improve college and career readiness and to expand STEM opportunities through community engagement for Austin ISD students. During her tenure, Emily served as the Chair of the Development Committee.
